1 cup – Idli batter
1 tbsp – Gun Powder
Hing or Asafoetida
dry red chili
tsp – ground black pepper
salt to taste
fresh coriander chopped
* Grease the mini idli mold with oil.
* Put a spoonful of fermented solution in each dent.
* Place the idli stand in the steamer.
Cover and cook for 10-15 minutes or till the idlis are cooked. When the idlis cool down slightly, take them out in a bowl after demolding them.
*To make the tempering, heat oil in a non stick pan. Add mustard seeds and when the seeds crackle, add black gram, curry leaves, asafoetida and crushed black peppercorns. Mix and fry for few minutes.
* Also add tempering to the idli Lemon juice, salt and chopped coriander leaves. Toss to mix.
