WB SSC scam: Arpita Mukherjee names Partha Chatterjee as owner of cash, seizes gold from their houses, says ED chargesheet

Kolkata: The Enforcement Directorate (ED), which has filed its first charge sheet in the West Bengal teacher recruitment scam, has claimed that accused Arpita Mukherjee has confessed to the agency that the cash and gold recovered from her two residences in July was actually West Bengal’s East It was education. According to sources, the ED chargesheet mentions that when she was asked about the real owner of the cash seized during interrogation on August 4, Rs 49.80 crore and gold worth over Rs 5 crore, Arpita admitted So far he has repeatedly refused to disclose the real owner of the seized cash and gold.

Later, Arpita also told the central agency that she did this out of fear for her and her mother’s safety.

“Arpana Mukherjee then stated that Rs 49.80 crore in cash from her two residences and gold/jewellery worth over Rs 5 crore belonged to Partha Chatterjee. See under the provisions of law,” the source said, citing the ED chargesheet.

The ED also said in the chargesheet that the annual premium amount of 31 life insurance policies of Arpita, most of which Partha Chatterjee is named, amounted to Rs 1.5 crore. Annual premium payments for all these policies, in which Partha Chatterjee was called Arpita’s ‘uncle’, were made from Chatterjee’s bank accounts.

Partha Chatterjee named accused in WB SSC scam in ED’s chargesheet

Partha Chatterjee has been named as an accused in the WB SSC recruitment scam. The ED has filed a 172-page charge sheet in this case. According to ED sources, assets worth about Rs 103 crore have been attached in this corruption. Most of these properties are in the name of Partha Chatterjee and Arpita Mukherjee. Some properties are also in the name of shell companies. The ED had raided several flats of Arpita Mukherjee on July 27 and 28. About Rs 49.80 crore and gold jewelery worth Rs 5.08 crore were seized.
