Hyderabad: A man tried to clash with Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday by breaking the mic installed on the stage at a rally in Hyderabad. However, the people on the stage immediately overpowered the man. After this Vyas was taken into preventive custody by Hyderabad Police. Nand Kishore Vyas, who tried to confront Sarma at the Ganeshotsav event in Hyderabad, said any derogatory remarks against Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao would not be tolerated. He told media persons, “He can have darshan of Ganesha and give a speech, but when he used derogatory language for the Chief Minister, we could not tolerate it. If someone says something wrong about our Chief Minister. If so, it will not be tolerated.”

Sarma is on a visit to Hyderabad to participate in various programs including Ganesh Visarjan Shobhayatra. After the incident, the Deputy Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly Numal Momin demanded an inquiry into the matter. He also demanded an apology from Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao over the matter. “Today’s incident is a complete failure of the Telangana government. I demand a fair investigation. Telangana Chief Minister KCR should apologize to the people of Assam for this incident,” Momin told ANI.

Blaming the TRS for the uproar, Telangana BJP leader NV Subhash said the party was upset over the growing popularity of the BJP in the state. NV Subhash told ANI, “A TRS worker grabbed the mike, so CM Himanta Biswa Sarma would not be able to address the gathering. This shows how the TRS party is becoming intolerant of the growing popularity of BJP in their state.”

Earlier on Friday, the CM of Assam visited the Mahalakshmi temple in the city. Meanwhile, Sarma hit out at Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao and said that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief has only been involved in dynastic politics.
