Students of welfare institutions performed well in IIT-JEE

Around 130 students of Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions (TSWREIS) and 237 students of Telangana Tribal Welfare Institutions secured all India ranks in SC/ST reservation categories in the JEE Advanced exam, the results of which were declared on Sunday.

This year, around 150 students of TSWREIS and 145 students of TTWREIS are likely to get admission in IITs, NITs and other premier institutes. Scheduled Castes Development Minister Koppula Easwar, Tribal Welfare Minister Satyavati Rathod, Secretary Ronald Rose, Additional Secretary V. Sarveswara Reddy and others congratulated the successful students, a press release said.

Thanking Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, Secretary Ronald Rose said, “The state government is leaving no stone unturned in helping social welfare residential students to make it to India’s top IITs and NITs.”

The top rankers of TSWEIS include Gaddam Shivleela 323, M. Sonali 350, Kondagurle Richa 525, P. Sridhar Naik 627, Rupavath Ankita (ST) 679, D. There are Swati SC 785, B Harni ST 859, Pooja Mathri (SC) 885. Sushmita Doma (SC) 904 and Srinita Banoth (ST) 948.

The toppers in tribal welfare institutions are- R. Umeshwari, V. Srisailam, N. Ajayakanth, K. Mahendra, K. Santosh, b. Premsagar and K. Surya, the release said.
