New Delhi: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat met several Muslim intellectuals and discussed the recent controversies and ways to strengthen religious inclusion in the country. According to sources close to the RSS, the meeting was organized to propagate the ideas of the Sangh and promote the theme of religious inclusion. Recent incidents like Gyanvapi controversy, Hijab controversy and population control were discussed in the meeting.
The meeting was attended by several intellectuals like former Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) SY Qureshi, former Lieutenant Governor (LG) of Delhi Najeeb Jung, former Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Chancellor Lt Gen Zameer Uddin Shah, former MP Shahid Siddiqui and businessmen. Syed Sherwani.
Former MP Shahid Siddiqui while talking to ANI said that discussions were held to strengthen peace and brotherhood among the people in the country. Siddiqui said, “We are concerned that whatever is happening in the country is weakening the religious unity in the country. Hence, we all discussed to maintain and strengthen the peace and brotherhood in the country. ”
The former MP also said that Mohan Bhagwat belongs to an organization which is followed by many. Siddiqui further added, “Mohan Bhagwat belongs to an organization that is followed by many, so we all met and discussed how to strengthen religious inclusion in the country.”
