among the claims of BJP Godda MP Nishikant Dubey and Legislature Party leader Babulal Marandi alleged that on September 2, the accused Dumka’s 14-year-old girl raped and murdered is Bangladeshi, Jharkhand Police’s investigation has concluded that he has ‘ancestral property’ in Dumka.
The body of a 14-year-old girl was found hanging in Dumka village and the police arrested a man under rape and murder (IPC) and POCSO Act. The incident happened days after a 16-year-old girl was set on fire by a hunter and died a week later.
On September 8, Marandi wrote on Twitter, “Dumka Police is telling that the accused in this case is a resident of Dumka, (but) he is actually a Bangladeshi. He has no relatives, people or any person in that village. Marandi asked the members of the Panchayat Samiti and the villagers to sign a declaration that the accused did not belong to that address. He also demanded a probe by the NIA.
The same day, Dubey tweeted: “There is a conspiracy by Congress and JMM to bifurcate Jharkhand into Bangladesh, my words are coming true… NIA should investigate.”
However, a letter written by Mufassil Dumka police station in-charge Umesh Ram to Superintendent of Police A Lakra on September 11 states that the father of the accused and his three brothers were born in Dumka village and one brother is still a resident of the same village. Village Rajnagar. “They have their raiyati land and ancestral house… During physical verification, villagers and a relative said that the father of the accused was born there.” Ram wrote that the document details of the land records given to him are also being verified.
When asked to comment on the police’s claim, Dubey said, “the police can say whatever they want”. He said, Babulal ji had clearly mentioned in his tweet with multiple signatures that the accused is not from the village.
Marandi, however, said: “The accused may be from Dumka, but the police had created an illusion at that time. And the villagers also said that the accused is not from that particular village.
