Raju Srivastava dies at 58: From PM Modi to Arvind Kejriwal, politicians across party lines mourn

Political leaders across party lines expressed grief and condolence on Wednesday Actor-comedian Raju Srivastava passes away, 58-year-old died in a hospital in New DelhiWhere he was admitted last month after suffering heart failure while exercising at a gymnasium in the city.

Soon after the news of Srivastava’s demise, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared an old picture of him with the deceased actor and tweeted: “Raju Srivastava brightened up our lives with laughter, humor and positivity. He leaves us very soon but he will live on in the hearts of countless people thanks to his rich work over the years. His death is sad. Condolences to his family and fans. peace.”

Srivastava was a famous actor as well as a politician. Samajwadi Party Shrivastava fielded from Kanpur for 2014 Lok Sabha Election. However, he returned the ticket saying that he was not getting enough support from the local units of the party. He later joined Bharatiya Janata Party on 19 March 2014.

BJP President JP Nadda also condoled Srivastava’s demise and tweeted: “Shocked to hear the news of the demise of renowned comedian Shri Raju Shrivastava ji. He left a different mark in the world of comedy. My thoughts are with his family and fans in this hour of grief. May God place the virtuous soul at his feet. (sic)”

Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said he was deeply saddened by the demise of Srivastava, and expressed condolences to his bereaved family and fans. In a tweet in Hindi, Singh described him as a skilled artist and a man with a lively and cheerful personality.

“I am deeply saddened by the passing away of renowned comedian Raju Srivastava ji. Apart from being a skilled artist, he was also a very lively person. He was also very active in the social field. I extend my condolences to his bereaved family and fans. Om Shanti,” he wrote.

Referring to the sad demise of Srivastava, Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy said: “A talented actor who had the ability to make everyone laugh and smile. My condolences to the bereaved family in this hour of grief. peace.”

“Sad to hear about the passing away of renowned comedian Raju Srivastava ji. May God place the departed soul at his feet. My condolences to his family and all his fans in this hour of grief (sic),” Delhi Chief Minister and AAP Convenor Arvind Kejriwal wrote on his official Twitter account.

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said the death of “comedy king Raju Srivastava” was a great loss to Indians as he created a place in people’s hearts by spreading laughter and happiness: “I pray that God rest his soul. Be at his feet and give courage to his family to bear this loss.”

Speaking to the media, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said: “Raju Srivastava is no more with us. On behalf of the people of Uttar Pradesh, I pray that his soul rest in peace. I extend my condolences to his family.”

Former Maharashtra minister Aaditya Thackeray also expressed his condolences and wrote on Twitter: “Goodbye to Raju Srivastava ji. He will always be remembered for the laughter he brought to millions! My condolences to his family and loved ones in this time of sorrow. peace.”

Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi paid tribute to the late actor and tweeted: “Gone too soon, too far. RIP #RajuSrivastava.” Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel also condoled the death of Srivastava.
