PFI/SDPI activists take out protest rally terming the raid as state sponsored terrorism

Popular Front of India (PFI) state committee member Yahiya Thangal and state general secretary PK Usman were detained by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) from their homes in Perumbilavu ​​and Kecheri respectively in early morning raids on Thursday.

The raids were conducted in the early hours of Thursday amid tight security. Activists of PFI/Social Democratic Party of India took out rallies in protest against the raids. Terming the raids as an act of state-sponsored terrorism, the activists alleged that there was an attempt to destabilize the PFI in the country.

The police lathi-charged the protesting PFI/SDPI workers and some of them suffered minor injuries. The NIA/ED team also raided the PFI office at Chavakkad at 5.30 am on Thursday. The raid lasted for about half an hour. The investigating agency snatched a laptop and receipts from the office. In protest against the raid, PFI workers took out a rally in Chavakkad.
