PFI case: NIA raids 40 places in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana; 4 were taken into custody

New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Sunday searched 40 locations in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for Popular Front of India (PFI) activists and detained four persons. In the case involving Abdul Khader and 26 others from Nizamabad district in Telangana, the agency conducted searches at 38 locations in Telangana (23 in Nizamabad, four in Hyderabad, two in Nirmal, seven in Jagtyal, one each in Adilabad and Karimnagar districts). Took. and two in Andhra Pradesh (one each in Kurnool and Nellore districts).

The NIA said it has seized incriminating material, including digital equipment, documents, two daggers and Rs 8,31,500 in cash, in these raids since Sunday morning.

“Four people have been taken into custody for questioning,” the counter-terrorism agency said. According to the NIA, these accused were “organizing camps for providing training to commit terrorist acts and promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion”.

During investigation by Nizamabad police station in Telangana, four accused were arrested: Abdul Kader, Sheikh Sahadullah, Mohd Imran and Mohd Abdul Mobin. The NIA later re-registered the case on August 26. Abdul Khader, 52, a resident of Autonagar in Nizamabad, was accused in the NIA’s First Information Report (FIR) of conspiring to wage war against the government along with 26 others. India.

“In pursuance of a criminal conspiracy, they recruited members of the Popular Front of India (PFI), organized camps to conduct training for terrorist acts. They organized an unlawful assembly and created enmity between different groups on grounds of religion. and was involved in activities to disrupt the sovereignty and territorial integrity of India,” the FIR mentions.

The case was first registered on July 4 at Nizamabad police station in Telangana. During the investigation, Telangana Police arrested four suspects: Abdul Kader, Sheikh Sahadullah, Mohd Imran and Mohd Abdul Mobin. The NIA later registered the case again on August 26. Since then the matter is under investigation.
