A day after a fire broke out at a hotel in Secunderabad, a woman was crying for her husband, a girl grieving for her father, and worried colleagues waiting to speak to the police and doctors.
Preeti, 50-year-old Delhi resident Virendra Kumar Dewakar’s daughter, reached the city with her mother on Tuesday and went through the process of identification of her body at Gandhi Hospital.
According to Ms. Preeti, Mr. Dewakar was a realtor who had come to the city about 20 days ago. He was supposed to leave for home on Monday, but decided to stay for another day. The only child, she is now worried about her mother.
Bengaluru-based couple Chandan Jethi and Mithali Mohapatra also lost their lives in the fire. Their distant relatives, who live in Hyderabad, identified their bodies. The families will arrive soon, he said.
Police said Ms Mohapatra was supposed to attend a training and her husband, a software engineer, joined them till the completion of her training, deciding to work from Hyderabad. Her Facebook account reveals that she was working as a Medical Aesthetic Technician for Oliva Skin and Hair Clinic.

Speaking to the media over the phone from Chennai, a colleague said that Mr. Balaji, sensing the danger, called his wife Meenal and sought help. Ms. Meenal called the company, which is doing everything possible to help them in their hour of grief.
