New Delhi: Heavy rains in Gurugram on Thursday (September 22, 2022) led to waterlogging and massive traffic jams in many parts of the city. An advisory from the traffic police urged residents to “step out of the house only when necessary” due to waterlogging and traffic congestion.
According to police, traffic on the Delhi-Jaipur National Highway, Signature Tower flyover and Hero Honda Chowk moved at a snail’s pace due to waterlogging.
Waterlogging also caused trouble in Mayfield Garden, Basai Chowk, AIT Chowk, Atlas Chowk and CRPF Chowk.

Work from home on Friday: Gurugram district administration urges all offices
In the wake of heavy rains on Friday, the Gurugram Disaster Management Authority has advised all corporate offices and private institutions in the district to ask employees to work from home.
“In view of the forecast of heavy rains in district Gurugram on September 23, waterlogging and traffic congestion are likely. Therefore, all corporate offices and private institutions in the district are advised to encourage their employees to work from home on Fridays. So that traffic congestion can be avoided and repair work of roads and drains can be done smoothly by the civic agencies.

According to the district administration, Gurugram received 54 mm of rain on Thursday, with Wazirabad receiving the maximum amount of 60 mm.
