He says that BJP has proved that issues like employment problem, high price cannot be solved with arrogance and hatred.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday hit out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on the second day of the Kerala leg of the Bharat Jodi Yatra, saying elections can be won by hatred, violence and anger. But without the spirit of harmony the country cannot achieve anything.

“This BJP has proved that you cannot solve employment problem or address high prices with arrogance and hatred. You have to first accept as a leader that knowledge belongs to the people of India. Pass is there. Once you understand that, the next step should be to listen and understand what they are saying. That is also the spirit of this Bharat Jodi Yatra that the Congress party has started.”

Addressing a huge crowd at a public meeting in the capital’s Kazhakuttam, Mr. Gandhi said that an atmosphere of fear and anger in the country is being created by an ideology which is in stark contrast to the spirit of Kerala and its great social reformers including Mr. Narayan Guru.

“There is a message you can give to the rest of the country. You can show the rest of the country what it means to work together in harmony. Most of you who live here take the spirit of Kerala lightly and believe that just because it is here, it is present everywhere. It is the most valuable thing that you have. Every single person in this country is an Indian and if someone is hating another Indian, he is hating the very idea of India.

The former Congress chief said that talks in India have been silenced, the media said only what the government wanted to say. Institutions were captured and occupied.

“It is not the fault of the press that follows us. It is because of the pressure that their owners are under pressure. We understand that they are afraid to say what is the truth. So the purpose of the visit is to listen to the people of India and develop a vision for the people from that conversation. It will be a vision that is rooted in your tradition, in the thoughts of your great leaders, and in the past, but not stuck in the past. It will be something that one looks to the future and thinks about what a prosperous India will look like,” Mr Gandhi said.

During the day, Mr. Gandhi and the main group of Rashtriya Yatra volunteers covered a distance of about 25 km from the heart of Thiruvananthapuram city. Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee President K. Senior Congress leaders including Sudhakaran, General Secretary (Organisation) KC Venugopal, Leader of Opposition VD Satheesan, Ramesh Chennithala, MLA, Shashi Tharoor, K Muraleedharan, MP and others were part of the yatra. for a considerable distance.
