Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan says IITs are temples shaping the future of humanity

Madras: The Union Minister for Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday released the Strategic Plan 2021-27 of IIT Madras. The plan proposed an ambitious development phase for the institute and a dedicated Emphasis Center for Quantum Science and Kotak-IIT(M) Save Energy Mission.

The Minister also inaugurated a low cost vegetable cart developed by IIT Madras indigenously GDI engine and supported by TVS Motor Company and incubated at IIT(M). Director, IIT Madras, Prof V Kamakoti, Prof Mahesh Panchaganula, Prof A Ramesh, Prof Abhijit Deshpande and students from IIT Madras participated in the event.

The Minister visited the Center for Advanced Manufacturing Technology Development, a 5G test bed, for the demonstration. IIT’s Rocket Factory Madras-based start-up Agnikul Cosmos, Healthcare Technology Innovation Center and IIT Madras Incubation Cell besides other research facilities such as Sudha Gopalakrishnan Brain Center and the first 3D-printed house on campus.

Speaking on the occasion, Pradhan congratulated all on the inauguration and launch of these initiatives towards academic excellence and nation building.

He said, “IITs are not just educational institutions, they are temples to create scientific temper and shape the future of humanity. Our society has high expectations from IITs. Our IITians have to be the leaders of growth and development. . “

He said that “the day is not far when the whole world will come to benefit from the Brain Research Center at IIT Madras. Ideas like 3D-printing technology can revolutionize manufacturing, help solve issues of displacement and respect can give life to the poor”.

Pradhan said that “India has a culture of giving back to the society and India innovates for the betterment of the society. Due to the technological strength of IIT Madras, India will be rolling out indigenous 5G by the end of 2023”.

He further added that “The talent pool in IIT gives me a lot of confidence. Our students need to rekindle their inner strengths and revive their ‘consciousness’. They have to think big, do social change and get jobs instead. Will have to become a job provider. -Seeker”.

The Minister said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to all of us to adopt ‘Panch Prana’ to make India a developed nation by 2047. “The next 25 years are very important for all of us. While entering the nectar period, we have overtaken a country that colonized us. India is developing at an unprecedented pace. Fast growing India has huge domestic needs. Which we will have to do. Will be done by our IITs,” he said.
