Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday began the third day of his nationwide Bharat Jodi Yatra in Nagercoil, Tamil Nadu. Here’s what happened:

Hashtag Politics: The official social media handle of the BJP posted a picture of the Congress leader with a T-shirt he was wearing, which cost Rs 41,257, and a caption that read, “India, look”. In response, Congress’ national social media convener, Saral Patel, said the BJP was “bummed by the public’s response” to the yatra and was “doing everything possible to divert people’s attention”.

Who is the next president of Congress? Breaking his silence on the Congress’s upcoming presidential election and reports that he is not willing to contest, senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday said he is not expected to lead the Congress party and is yet to lead or participate in it. There doesn’t appear to be any “contradiction”. Word – India pair travel. He said that he had clearly decided what he was going to do and added that “there is no confusion in my mind”.

Congress on Wheels: About 60 truck-mounted container vans are converted into air-conditioned bedrooms for passengers daily. Containers are parked in color-coded areas, depending on the number of beds they have. Besides them are staying 120 party men who accompanied Rahul from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, a container that has been converted into a mini-conference hall. We take you inside these containers.
