As Rahul Gandhi begins the second day of his India Jodi journey, he joins the team behind ‘Village Cooking Channel’, a popular YouTube channel that has around 1.79 crore subscribers. Rahul tried his hand at cooking with these YouTubers during a visit to Tamil Nadu in January 2021. On the menu were mushroom biryani and onion-curd salad, which Gandhi used to help prepare before sitting down to eat.

The polyglot in Jairam Ramesh was on full display on Friday. Ahead of a press conference addressed by Rahul Gandhi, Ramesh spoke to the troubled press corps, which were struggling to find seats and camera positions in English, Hindi, Tamil and Kannada. One person, one question, he told the gathered reporters, before smiling and mentioning Congress’s one-man-one-post rule.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah and his cabinet colleague Smriti Irani, who holds the women and child welfare portfolio, on Saturday attacked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodi Yatra’.

Shah, who attended a BJP event in Jodhpur, said Congress leaders who once said “India is not a nation” are now ready to “unify” the country by wearing “foreign-made” T-shirts, while the latter Recommends one to read History of India. Irani said at a party event near Bengaluru that Rahul was walking with people who raised ‘anti-India’ slogans, an apparent reference to Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar.

“Rahul Baba has started the India Jodi Yatra by wearing a foreign jersey… a foreign T-shirt. Friends, I want to remind them what they said in the Parliament- ‘India is not a nation’. Hey Rahul Baba, in which book have you read this? This is the country for which lakhs of people have sacrificed their heads and painted this earth red. This is the country where thousands of sisters did ‘Juhar’ for the honor and country. But you don’t feel like a country?” Shah said while addressing the Rajasthan BJP booth office bearers in Jodhpur.
