Bharatiya Janata Party The (BJP) Andhra Pradesh unit has planned to organize 5,000 public meetings across the state as part of whose birthday celebrations Prime Minister Narendra Modi Between 17 September to 2 October

Party state president Somu Veeraraju told the media on Tuesday that the BJP would celebrate the Prime Minister’s birthday as ‘Seva Pakhwada’ (Service Fortnight) across the country.

The Andhra Pradesh unit of the party has planned several programs including blood donation camps and medical camps. Necessary aids and equipment like prostheses will be distributed to the needy. He said the party would also launch a one-year program to make the country tuberculosis (TB) free, under which everyone would adopt a TB patient and take care of him for a year.

Mr. Veeraraju said that BJP is training about 50 candidates in each assembly constituency of the state to address public meetings. The BJP plans to hold 30 to 40 meetings in each assembly constituency. He said the meetings would start from September 19.

The BJP leader said that programs related to ‘Unity in Diversity’ and ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ will also be organized as part of the celebrations. He said that special programs would be organized on September 25 to mark the birth anniversary of Bharatiya Jana Sangh leader Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay.

Polavaram Project

Referring to the Polavaram project, Veeraraju said the YSRCP and previous TDP governments were responsible for the damage to the diaphragm wall. “Water Resources Minister Ambati Rambabu should focus on rectifying the mistakes, if any, instead of throwing mud,” said Mr. Veeraraju.

Praja Poru

Taking a jibe at the YSRCP government, the BJP leader said that the party will “inform people about corruption during YSRCP tenure” during the ‘Praja Poru’ programme. Veeraraju said, “BJP will expose Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s utter failure in implementation of election promises, poor governance and etc. It is unfortunate that sarpanches are being forced to beg,” Mr. Veeraraju said.
