Meanwhile, the BBMP halted the demolition drive at Purva Parkridge Apartments near Garudacharpalya in Mahadevapura area on Tuesday after the Karnataka High Court stayed the order.

BBMP officials said they had planned a demolition drive near the residential complex, but some residents reportedly protested.

“We have stopped the operation at Poorva Parkridge after receiving a stay order from the High Court on Tuesday evening. Before we could get the order, some residents had hindered our anti-encroachment operation and by evening when we got the order, we had to stop the operation,” said a senior BBMP official.
