AAP attacks Delhi LG VK Saxena again, says ‘Stop interfering in government work’

New Delhi: AAP leader and Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Wednesday attacked Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, asking him to stop interfering in the affairs of the Arvind Kejriwal-led government. Sisodia has written to the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, seeking a CBI probe into the alleged Rs 6,000 crore scam in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).

Sisodia also targeted the LG for “interfering in the affairs of the government” and conducting a “fake investigation” against the Arvind Kejriwal-led government. The Deputy Chief Minister alleged that he had apprised the LG about the corruption in MCD two months back, but he did not take any measures.

“I would like to draw your attention to my earlier letter regarding corruption of Rs 6,000 crore in MCD. You did not order a CBI inquiry into the matter which I raised two months back. But you are setting a new record by ordering probe into fake cases to stop the work of the government, but you are not able to see corruption in MCD.

In a Hindi letter to the LG, Sisodia said, “You are illegally interfering in the work of the elected government instead of paying attention to the issues of the public. I request you to order a CBI inquiry into the MCD scam.” ” Further, he said that the Constitution has entrusted the LG with the responsibility of streamlining the functioning of Delhi Police, but crimes are increasing in the city.

He also tried to remind Saxena that the LG, being the head of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), had the responsibility of managing it, but alleged that its land was occupied by the mafia.

“If you (LG) show equal interest in preventing rape and reducing crimes in Delhi, people will feel relief in just two to four months? If you get the land freed from mafia, it can be used for public welfare schemes like schools and hospitals,” said the deputy chief minister.

Sisodia also alleged that the LG had ordered a “fake” probe into the free power scheme. He said the probe would be of no use as he claimed that the authorities did not find any irregularities in the probe into the excise policy and alleged irregularities in the purchase of buses by the Delhi Transport Corporation.
