290 cultural programs queue up for Dussehra 2022 in Mysore

The countdown has begun for Mysore Dussehra to be held from September 26 to October 5 and the cast and line-up of shows have been finalized to enthrall the audience.

A total of 290 cultural programs will be organized during Dussehra this year at 8 venues – Amba Vilas Palace, Jaganmohan Palace, Kalamandir, Ganabharti, Nadbrahma Sangeet Sabha, Kirurangamandir, Chikkagadiyara and Town Hall.

BR Purnima, CEO, Zilla Panchayat said, “Local talent and artistes have been given an opportunity to perform in 25% of the programmes.

But the most iconic are the events in front of the illuminated palace, for which the line-up is a mix of national and state-level performers.

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai will inaugurate the cultural programs on September 26 at 6 pm, and will also present the State Sangeet Vidya Puraskar. This will be followed by a dance performance by Saptaswar Arts and Creation of Bangalore, which will begin at 7 PM Sugam Sangeeta by HR Leelavati scheduled from 8 PM to 9.30 PM.

Main events scheduled at Amba Vilas Palace

September 27: Carnatic classical music program by scholar Sandeep Narayan from 8 pm

28 September: Tabla concert by Ustad Fazal Qureshi from Mumbai;

September 29: – Police Band from 5.30 pm; Concert by Pandit Venkatesh Kumar of Dharwad from 7 pm onwards; Concert by Chakraphonics, Bangalore from 8 PM

30 September: Concert by Sukanya Prabhakar at 6 pm; Kuchipudi dance by Roopa Rajesh and troupe, 7 pm; Hindustani Music Program by Kaushik Chakraborty of Kolkata from 8 pm

October 1: TS Nagabharan and members of the Benaka team will perform theater song at 6 pm; Police Band from 7 pm onwards; Sitar Symphony by Mano Music Lines, Bangalore at 8 PM

October 2: The concerts start at 6 am. and will go on till 6 pm; dance-drama facility at 7 pm; Manoj Vashisht and Arundhati Vashisht’s concert at 8 pm

October 3: Traditional dance by local artists from 7 pm onwards; Anoop Jalota’s Ghazal program from 8 pm
