Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann on a plane in Germany after being ‘drunken’? your claim rejected

After allegations that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was landed from a plane in Germany, AAP has now denied these claims. According to various media reports, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was recently deboarded for being intoxicated. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was deboarded in Frankfurt for a Delhi-bound Lufthansa flight because he was “too drunk to walk”. Mann, who was on a visit to Germany from 11-18 September, delayed his departure because he was reportedly ‘in a state of intoxication’.

As seen on flight tracking website Flightaware, a Lufthansa 760 flight from Frankfurt to Delhi was delayed by 4 hours. It was supposed to take off from Germany at 1.40 pm, but took off at 5.34 pm and landed in Delhi at 4.40 pm with a delay of 3.45 hours.

Officials in the Chief Minister’s Office claimed that suddenly the Chief Minister could not board the flight due to health concerns. However, his party, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), vehemently denied the rumours, saying that Mann was not dropped at the Frankfurt airport. The party termed it as false and petty propaganda by political rivals.

Making serious allegations against CM Mann, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal said that Mann’s plane was delayed by 4 hours and sought clarification on the incident and Punjab government’s silence on the issue. In a message a co-traveller said, “The chief minister was not steady on his feet as he had consumed excessive alcohol and had to support his wife/safety”.

“Disturbing media reports quoting co-passengers said that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was deboarded from a Lufthansa flight because he was too drunk to walk. And this delayed the flight by 4 hours. He Missed AAP’s national convention. These reports have shamed and shamed Punjabis all over the world,” Badal tweeted.

“Surprisingly, Punjab government is silent on these reports related to its CM Bhagwant Mann, Arvind Kejriwal needs to come clean on this issue. Government of India should step in as it involves Punjabi and national pride. If he is removed If so, the Indian government should take up the issue with its German counterpart.”
