Gold rose by ₹152; Silver jump ₹333

In the international market, gold was trading at $1,671 an ounce while silver was flat at $19.35 an ounce.

According to HDFC Securities, gold prices rose by ₹152 to ₹49,871 per 10 grams in the national capital on Wednesday amid a rally in international precious metal prices with the rupee depreciating.

In the previous trade, the yellow metal had closed at ₹49,719 per 10 grams.

Silver also rose by ₹333 to ₹57,406 per kg from ₹57,073 per kg in the previous trade.

The rupee ended 8 paise lower at 79.82 against the US dollar in early trade on Wednesday as investors await US Fed’s policy decision on interest rates for further cues.

HDFC Securities Senior Analyst (Commodities) Tapan Patel said, “Gold prices rose ahead of US FOMC meeting and geopolitical tensions following announcement of partial military mobilization by Russian President Vladimir Putin.”
