Gold dropped by ₹139; Silver falls by ₹363

According to HDFC Securities, gold prices on Friday fell by Rs 139 to Rs 50,326 per 10 grams in the national capital amid a fall in the precious metal prices internationally.

In the previous trade, the yellow metal had closed at ₹50,465 per 10 grams.

Silver also fell sharply by ₹363 to ₹58,366 per kg from ₹58,729 per kg in the previous trade.

In the international market, gold was trading at $1,665 an ounce, while silver was flat at $19.50 an ounce.

HDFC Securities Senior Analyst (Commodities) Tapan Patel said, “Despite a strengthening dollar on bearish concerns, gold prices declined as the US Federal Reserve remains committed to raising interest rates.”
