New Delhi: The news of increase in dearness allowance of central government employees from July 1, 2022 has recently gone viral on social media. A letter issued by the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, dated 20 September 2022, mentions a 4 per cent hike in DA.
In what appears to be an office memorandum, the letter states that the dearness allowance of central government employees has been increased from 34 per cent to 38 per cent. It is also written in this letter that the order to increase dearness allowance has been implemented from July 1, 2022.
Refuting the claims, PIB has tweeted that the order circulated on WhatsApp claiming that the additional installment of Dearness Allowance will be effective from 01.07. PIB further says that the Department of Expenditure has not issued any such order.
